Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy added a new form of power to their game today when they enjoyed a short trip from the Mission Hills Hotel to Clubhouse in one of the Mission Hills resort’s new solar-powered golf carts.
Mission Hills has a fleet of over 200 solar-powered carts, thirty of which are being utilised for The Match at Mission Hills to transport the players, tournament officials and television crew around the resort.
Dr. Ken Chu, Chairman of Mission Hills Group, said: “This is the latest initiative by Mission Hills to promote sustainable and environmentally responsible golf. We remain absolutely committed to sustainable golf development and over the years we have taken many sustainability initiatives in areas of course development, fertilisation, water preservation, energy efficiency and heat management.”
The Match at Mission Hills, an 18-hole stroke play exhibition match between Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, tees off at 12.35pm local time (GMT +8hrs) on the Blackstone Course at Mission Hills - Haikou, China.
